SACRAMENT OF BAPTISM
NOTE: During the Pandemic, Baptism classes will be held virtually
Also, Fr. Kris will baptize only one child at a time in a private ceremony usually held after an 11:00AM Sunday Mass. Arrangments are to be made directly with him.
When the forms have been returned and the class requirement completed, the date and time of the Baptism will be confirmed. Baptisms are normally celebrated every other month at 1:00pm on a pre-scheduled Sunday. The donation is $25.00. Please make the check payable to St. Mary’s Church. This will be used to support the Baptism and Religious Education Programs of the parish. Also, a stipend for Fr. Kris in the amount of your choosing, is customary.
Baptism classes for first time parents are held on an as needed basis. Classes are held in St. Mary’s Parish Center. Please contact Fr. Kris von Maluski to schedule your class date at [email protected]
Godparents are encouraged to attend the class with the parents since they will serve as sponsors at the Baptism and are to be helpers to the parents in the education of the child in the Catholic faith. Only Confirmed Catholics who are registered in their parish, practice their faith, are in good standing with the Church and are at least sixteen (16) years of age may be godparents. All godparents must complete our Baptism Sponsor Form and have itsigned by their parish priest and affixed with the parish seal. These forms should be returned to St. Mary’s Parish Office well before the Baptism date.
